Welcome to The 400-Acre Memory Maker, YMCA Camp Hanes. Camp Hanes is located at the base of Sauratown Mountain, just 30 minutes north of Winston-Salem, NC YMCA Camp Hanes provides opportunities for Summer Camp, Retreats, and Environmental Education. Camp Hanes has been serving the children of Winston-Salem and the North Carolina area since 1927.

Established in 1927, the original camp directors Harry W. Long and his wife began bringing boys to the mountainside to teach "good habits, self reliance, teamwork, and camp spirit under Christian leadership." These values are still at the heart of Camp Hanes. Memories of table cheers, Crystal Mine hikes, cabin inspections, hikes to the top of Sauratown Mountain, and camp songs such as "Follow the Gleam" are shared by generations of campers.
