Resident Camp Weekly Themes 2010

This summer at camp we will have weekly themes.  It will not affect the day to day activities we offer every week.  It will bring some extra fun and excitement to our program.  The theme will be incorporated into: the dance, evening games, stories, campfire and other ways the staff add to the weekly experience.  (For Day Camp Themes see here.)

Session One – “Back in the Saddle”

Welcome to Summer Camp 2010.  We are kicking things off with a Western Theme.  We will be playing games Wild West style and enjoying some country music at the dance.  Bring your western wear and your “Yee Haw” attitude.

Session Two-“Time Warp”

We are all about time travel this week.  What is your favorite decade?  Come dressed for the dance representing your favorite: pull out your leg warmers, bell bottoms, tie-dye, poodle skits or whatever you need to celebrate.

Session Three- “Wet, Wacky and Wonderful”

As the summer heats up we stay cool by the pool.  We are going to have a Beach Party Dance and so dress ready for some pool time fun.  We will make sure you stay cool with lots of fun water activities this week at camp.

Session Four—Full of Character”

What is your favorite character from movies, books or tv?  Are you a Star Wars fan? Do you have a favorite Superhero?  Do books catch your fancy? Or are you more of a character than any of them?  Dress like your favorite to show them off at the dance.

Session Five-“Around the World in Six Days”

Celebrate the United States and other countries this week.  We are going to have an Olympic Event one night and at the dance we will be celebrating sports events from all over the world.  Lots of celebrations and sports this week.

Session Six-“Holidaze”

What is your favorite holiday?  We are kicking off the Christmas in July season this week.  Come celebrate!  Some Halloween? Thanksgiving?  Friendship Day?  Dress for your favorite holiday at the dance.  It is a Celebration Dance!

Session Seven-“Choose Your Own Adventure”

Our last week.  We are all about Adventure this week: Pirates, Explorers, and Campers Oh My!  Every time you come to Camp Hanes it is an adventure.  The question is do you choose to meet it head on! At our dance we want you to express your adventurous side.
