Partner With Youth Campaign

In June of 1927, Harry Long brought a small group of young boys from Winston-Salem to the all new John W. Hanes Memorial YMCA camp to experience the great outdoors! Over eighty years later more than 2,500 young boys and girls each summer still come to YMCA Camp Hanes to experience the great outdoors, make lifelong friends and create lasting memories at the “400 Acre Memory Maker” YMCA Camp Hanes.

My family and I are so blessed to be a part of the YMCA Camp Hanes family. One of our first experiences with camp was a Partner with Youth celebration where my wife and I both were so touched to see an organization with an Open Doors policy of providing financial assistance to families who cannot afford to attend the YMCA programs.

I want to invite you to partner with us and give a gift through our Partner with Youth campaign to help families provide positive lifelong memories for their child at YMCA Camp Hanes. What is the Partner With Youth Campaign?

With your support, the annual YMCA Partner With Youth Campaign provides scholarship funds for deserving youth, families and seniors. By supporting the Partner With Youth Campaign, you ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances or ability to pay, can benefit from YMCA programs and services.

The Partner With Youth Campaign funds such important programs as child care, day and overnight camp, membership, teen leadership programs, adult literacy, swim lessons, and senior programs.

In 2006, over 16,892 individuals will participate at the YMCA through the Open Doors Scholarship Program, valued atover $3.1 million. The YMCA strives to turn no one away due to inability to pay. That is why each gift makes a difference in helping people reach their God-given potential in spirit, mind and body.
