Leaders in Training (LIT) – Rising Sophomores in High School
The LIT is a three week program designed for young men and women who have a drive to learn leadership skills. The First week is spent in leadership training. Through a series of group discussions, team building, initiatives, and challenge course participation we explore each camper’s inner potential and leadership abilities. The second week is devoted to “Service to Others.” Service projects teach the importance of sharing your talents and abilities with others. LIT’ s will gain documented community service within the Winston Salem community. The third week is spent hiking on the Appalachian Trail. This provides the perfect setting to solidify the group bond with each other and reflect upon lessons learned.

COUNSELORS IN TRAINING (CITs) – Rising 11th grade
The CIT program is a two week, hands on experience for those that wish to be counselors as Camp Hanes. CITs focus on service to camp and learning about being a counselor. As a CIT you will play a very important role in the operation of camp on a daily basis. CITs commit themselves to “behind the scenes” work in all areas of camp. It is this dedication to service that makes camp successful. Through this program you not only learn about being a counselor but the importance of hard work, of developing your strengths and preparing for the future.
If you are interested in this program you must submit a letter of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 31st along with a registration form to give us your contact information. An interview (in person or phone) and possible selection day will be scheduled.
